We are
proud to present the Banneker Elementary Student Council. The Council
consist of a representative from each of the 16 classes, K-5th grade.
The President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Sergeant at Arms are all
elected by the entire student body. Each person wishing to hold office
is allowed to make a 2 minute video tape of their election speech.
This tape is then viewed by all the students. After viewing the tape
the student body votes on the 4 office positions.
The
student council suggests fund-raisers for the school and promotes the canned
food drive, children's hospital toy drive and other activities in which
the students participate in. The Council is sponsored by Ms. Bowar,
a 4th grade teacher, and Mr. Kelne, the Art teacher. Their
dedication and service is appreciated.
